Women in prison report 2019

In 2006, the Commission conducted a review of the treatment of women in Queensland prisons on the basis of gender, race, and disability.

Ten years on from the report, and with the numbers of women being incarcerated steadily increasing, the Commission conducted a follow-up consultation. This report is the result of that consultation and focuses on the law, policy, and practices pertaining to the detention of women in Queensland against the benchmark of international human rights standards.
