Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex people
The Anti-Discrimination Commission Queensland's mission includes taking a leadership role in human rights in Queensland, including protection from unfair discrimination against LGBTI people. Our vision is a fair and inclusive Queensland embracing of diverse gender identities and sexualities.
The Commission stands with the many LGBTI people who are building a fair and inclusive Queensland for all people. We recognise the many positive steps towards equality that have been gained over the past decades through the commitment of communities and individuals, organisations, politicians, public officials and private enterprise.
All people should be equal before and under the law, and have the right to equal protection and equal benefit of the law without discrimination on the basis of gender identity and sexuality. The quality of democratic life in Queensland is improved by an educated community appreciative and respectful of the dignity and the worth of LGBTI people.
