In the Community

People have a right to be treated fairly and have equal access when they are out and about in the community. There are many areas of public life covered by Queensland law, not just work and education.

The other areas of public life include:

  • obtaining goods and services – banks, shops, doctors, gyms, restaurants
  • obtaining accommodation – motels, caravan parks, rental properties, campsites
  • buying or selling real estate
  • obtaining membership of clubs
  • dealing with state or local government agencies
  • obtaining insurance or superannuation
