PRESENTATION FOR COMMISSIONER

On 16 October last year, Commissioner Karen Walters was
presented with a copy of the book "Leading Lives" which
briefly profiles thirty-two women in the Queensland Public
Sector. Ms Walters is featured in the book and her message to
women is "First, be assertive and be prepared to take risks.
Secondly, in taking risks be strategic....Thirdly, there will
always be a continual array of hiccups which add to the
difficulties women experience in mixing work and family. But
don’t give up - balancing the two is achievable and very
rewarding both as a mother and as a professional".
