Commission Meets Clients

Organising forums for members of various groups has proven to be a successful way for people from the business sector, disability sector, indigenous communities, ethnic communities, the public sector, women’s agencies and gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender groups to meet Commissioner Karen Walters and Commission staff.

It has also provided the Commission with information about key concerns and issues affecting groups in the community.

"The challenge ahead for the Commission lies in building upon those initial meetings and ensuring two way communication continues", said Ms Walters.

Forums with unions and religious groups are being planned for the second half of the year.
