PUBLIC SECTOR TRAINING

More than eighty complaint handlers in the public sector recently attended two full day seminars conducted by the Commission.

The training was organised after the Commissioner met with Directors-General of State government departments, and encouraged them to become more familiar with the legislation, particularly in their response to complaints lodged with the Commission. A second seminar needed to be arranged as a result of the numbers expressing interest in attending.

Training was conducted by members of staff who addressed topics including an overview of the Act, complaint handling, responding to complaints, reaching agreement and the Anti-Discrimination Tribunal.

Feedback from the day was very positive, and further courses are planned for next year.
