Appointment of new President and Members of the Tribunal

In January 1997 Ms Ruth Copelin was appointed as President of the Tribunal for a four year term. Ms Copelin is a partner at the firm of solicitors, Clayton Utz. She is the partner in charge of the firm’s business law section and practises in the areas of family, employment, discrimination, commercial and estate law. The Commission welcomes Ms Copelin to her role as President of the Tribunal.

In May 1997, five new members were appointed to the Tribunal, which now has nine members. Those members are:

• Ms Suzette Coates - Solicitor in Atherton, North Queensland
• Ms Pamela Dickinson* - Solicitor in Mareeba, North Queensland
• Ms Cate Holmes - Barrister at Law, Brisbane
• Mr Stephen Keim - Barrister at Law, Brisbane
• Ms Kathryn McMillan* - Barrister at Law, Brisbane
• Ms Marjorie Pagani* - Barrister at Law, Townsville
• Mr Marshall Pope* - Barrister at Law, Townsville
• Mr Greg Sowden* - Barrister at Law, Brisbane
