Forum on sexuality, gender identity and EEO for employers - 26 June 2008

The Anti-Discrimination Commission Qld in support of the 2008 Pride Festival will present a free session on making the workplace a safe and productive environment for everyone, whether they are gay, lesbian, bi-sexual, transgender or heterosexual.

The session will be held at the Commission's Brisbane office on Thursday 26 June from 10am till noon.

Discrimination Law for Community Organisations - 2 July and 4 December 2008

Community organisations which offer a service to the public, may like to take advantage of a free overview session on Queensland discrimination law. It is being run by the ADCQ and no previous knowledge is needed.The format allows for questions and discussion.

This session is only open to people working for community organisations. Places are limited so register now by calling 1300 130 670 or TTY 1300 130 680.

  • Date - Wednesday 2 July 2008 and Thursday 4 December 2008
  • Time - 9.00am to 1.00pm
  • Place - Logan Entertainment Centre, 170 Wembley Road, Logan Central for the 2 July 2008 session. Venue for the 4 December 2008 session to be advised.

Regional training - 18 and 22 August 2008

Between 18 and 22 August 2008 five courses will be conducted in Townsville. The courses are:

  • Discrimination Law - an Introduction to the Act
  • The Contact Officer - Introductory and Advanced
  • Investigating Complaints
  • Fairness - Everyone's Business - How to Present a Two Hour Session
  • Recruitment and Selection

PowerPoint presentation on fair treatment

Now you can deliver a presentation on fair treatment and discrimination using the new resource produced by the Anti-Discrimination Commission Queensland.

The PowerPoint slide show is designed to be used in a one hour presentation on discrimination and fair treatment. It includes PowerPoint slides and trainer's notes.

The Commission has other resources to help you spread the word about fair treatment. Call your closest office on 1300 130 670 (toll free) for:

A range of courses is offered throughout the year in Brisbane and regional centres.

Venues

In Brisbane: 189 Coronation Drive (corner of Cribb Street), Milton.

In Townsville: Anti-Discrimination Commission Queensland, Level 2, St James Place, 155-157 Denham Street, Townsville.

In Cairns : Anti-Discrimination Commission Queensland, 78 Spence Street, Cairns.

Bookings are required and the cost is $140 (including GST) per person for a half day session.

Fairness — everyone’s business training package

This product is the complete 'ready to go' package for anti-discrimination training in Queensland. It includes a CD-ROM, PowerPoint slides, trainer's notes, visual scenarios, handouts and activities, cases, glossary, legislation and tips for trainers.

On-site sessions

We can tailor one of the standard courses to meet your organisation’s needs and deliver it onsite. The cost of these sessions is $175 per hour with a minimum fee of 2 hours. Half day sessions cost $700 and full day $1,400.. All prices include GST.
