Changing Lives, Changing Communities ... play your part
ADCQ has partnered with Queensland Council of Social Service (QCOSS) and Queenslanders with Disability Network (QDN) to host a series of Changing Lives Changing Communities events in 13 locations across Queensland. These events will build on the knowledge gained and actions developed on the second day of the QCOSS State Conference - Movement for change that was held in Brisbane in May 2018.
We invite you to join us at a location near you for a free, two-day event where we can work together to create a community where everyone contributes, matters and belongs. We will work with you to develop a shared vision for your local community and you will leave with actions that you can take both individually and collectively to make real social change. The insights and experience you gained at the QCOSS State Conference will be invaluable to others in your community as we continue this movement beyond Brisbane.
During the two days we will discuss the stories we want to tell in our communities and how they can change the outcomes for people everywhere. Then we will work through a process to create the movement for change.
This will be a hands-on session, drawing from the strength and wisdom in the room, to develop a vision and key actions for change.
At the end of day 1, there will be a Community Marketplace where mainstream and community providers will be invited to showcase what they do and their inclusive services. We also welcome any social enterprises to be part of this exciting market place. Changing Lives, Changing Communities is your opportunity to be part of a movement for change towards inclusive communities by 2030.
The Changing Lives Changing Communities events in Toowoomba, Mackay, Caboolture, Brisbane, Gold Coast, and Normanton are funded through Information, Linkages and Capacity Building (ILC) National Readiness Grants - National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) – a partnership between QDN, QCOSS and ADCQ.
