The Anti-Discrimination Commission Queensland is an independent statutory authority established under the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991. Our core business is to receive and deal with complaints of discrimination and other contraventions of the Act, and to promote human rights in Queensland. We have offices in Brisbane, Rockhampton, Townsville and Cairns.

  • The Coming of the Light Festival (1 July)
    recognises the adoption of Christianity through Island communities during the late nineteenth century, and is a significant day for Torres Strait Islander peoples.
  • NAIDOC week (4-11 July)
    is a celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and an opportunity to recognise the contributions of Indigenous Australians. The 2010 National NAIDOC theme is Unsung Heroes - Closing the Gap by Leading Their Way.
